Proper Steps

  • Read "Getting Started" before beginning any exercise
  • Support yourself by holding the stationary hand rails. Always step on the lower pedal first, applying enough weight to bring it to its lowest position.
  • While still holding onto the stationary hand rails, step up onto the other pedal and bring the pedals to an even or level position.
  • Select a hand position at approximately shoulder height.
  • Take a shallow 4-6 inch step height. (The average step height of a flight of stairs is only 7 inches)
